Giving Fund:
Mitigating Climate Change
Our Giving Fund: Mitigating Climate Change is the most flexible way to support the most promising climate protection organizations. Sometimes time-sensitive opportunities arise that require quick action. At other times, organizations need certainty in their funding streams to hire new staff and launch new campaigns and programs.
The Giving Fund supports the most promising initiatives of highly effective climate charities. We decide how to allocate funds every six months to be flexible and responsive to the needs of our grantees. To do this, we are in regular contact with them and consult closely with partner organizations such as Founders Pledge. and Giving Green .
Why choose a Giving Fund at all?
The Donation Fund is the easiest way to maximize the impact of your donation. Together with our evaluators and other external experts, we take the decision of having to choose between effective climate protection organizations off your hands. If you are interested in making a regular donation, the fund ensures that you are supporting the most promising initiatives at any given time without having to regularly review your donation. You can find more information in our article “What are donation funds?”.
How does the Giving Fund maximize your impact?
- It supports programs that we and our partners have identified as particularly promising and effective at the time, but which we do not recommend as a top organization - for example because the program is a highly effective but time-limited initiative.
- It provides funding for urgent, time-sensitive projects. For example, without the joint funding between Founders Pledge., Doneer Effectief and us, the Future Matters-team would not have been able to implement the EU Climate Priorities-report.
- If you have Effektiv Spenden you can deduct your donation from tax in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and therefore donate even more generously.
How do we decide who the Giving Fund supports?
Our Giving Fund: Mitigating Climate Change is based on the Climate Change Fund of the non-profit institute Founders Pledge.. Together, we decide on the allocation of funds every six months in order to be able to respond flexibly to the needs of the most effective organizations for climate protection. In addition to our top organizations, we also consider other projects or organizations that are particularly promising and effective, but which we do not (yet) present as separate recommendations on our platform. This is also important because it allows the fund to support smaller but highly effective initiatives and projects that are not eligible for individual recommendations on Effective Donations due to their small size or time limit.
In the past, we have used this donation fund to support Founders Pledge. among other things with the organization Giving Green as part of this Giving Fund.
