With all the problems facing the world today, it’s easy to feel helpless. But it’s also easy to forget how privileged we are to live in a country like Germany—and how much positive change we can create with comparatively small amounts of money.
Last year, I learned about effective charities: organizations that use evidence and data to make donations go as far as possible. I was amazed by how much impact even small monthly contributions can have, and how many lives we have the power to affect.
Because of this, I’ve decided to donate all of my earnings as a musician to effective charities. I’m lucky to have a day job, so this felt like a meaningful way to use music to make the world a little bit better. This fundraiser includes all the money I earn through music, along with any contributions others choose to give.
In 2026, I’d like to invite you to think about these ideas as well. We all want to live in a just world, but we’re not there yet. If you feel financially secure, try reflecting on how much good your spare resources could do for people living in extreme poverty, and think about how much you’d be comfortable giving.
Thank you for being here, for listening, and for caring. Let’s make the world a better place together. ❤️
Much love,
Tony
